Refreshing, cool yogurt lassi with a hint of salt, cumin and mint makes a hydrating summer cooler. My Sunday Supper team is doing a Summer chilling theme and I am making my cumin lassi. I grew up in India where summers were 90 degrees and air conditioning was rare. We has to find ways to keep cool and drinking lassi was one of them. My mom would make a pitcher of lassi in the morning and we would sip all through the day. Lassi can be sweet or savory and this cumin spiked lassi is savory. The salt adds flavor and helps replenish salts lost due to sweating in the hot weather. Cumin and mint add a boost of digestive power to the lassi. Since the base of any lassi is yogurt this is a probiotic rich drink filled with nourishment. It’s so easy to make and tastes great. Next time you feel the heat, whip yourself a cool refreshing hydrating lassi!
