Chocolate Tea! Calm and soothe your stress away with this decadent chocolate tea infused with the antioxidant power of black tea and almonds! I saw this recipe in a Women’s World magazine and I being a chocoholic and tea addict I fell in love with the recipe. I tweaked it a little bit and am sharing it with you because I strongly believe “Good things need to be shared “! The original recipe called for chocolate syrup, but I added unsweetened cocoa instead. I also added a dash of cinnamon and it spiked it up and made my tea simply spectacular. I know I’m using a lot of superlatives but hey, this chocolate tea deserves it! I used fresh home – made almond milk, but you can use store bought almond milk as well. The rich flavors of chocolate and almond combine in this wickedly delish creamy brew!
Why it works!
Black tea is chock full of antioxidants and studies have shown it can lower stress hormones. Almonds are another super food that has a calming effect on the brain. They are high in serotonin, the stress relieving hormone and have the right combination of carbohydrate, protein and fat to create a balance in the body. Cinnamon, apart from infusing the tea with an aromatic flavor regulate sugar levels and keep them steady which contribute to lowering body stress. You can see why this tea may be just the ticket to calming stress in the most delicious way!
